Property Investment company Westcourt Group has secured planning for a city centre residential development.

The firm will convert the upper floors of 121 Kirkgate in Leeds, a grade two listed building, into studio apartments.

Tim Hodgson, director of Westcourt, said: “We’re delighted to have secured planning on 121 Kirkgate. “Westcourt has an excellent track record for sensitively restoring and converting listed buildings, and this will be no exception.

“As with many listed buildings, there was every chance that it could have fallen into disrepair, instead it will be reinvented and become a beautiful and utilised residential space in one of the most sought after locations in the city – just minutes walk from bars and shops.”

Westcourt worked with Enjoy Design and planning consultant Killian Gallagher of LHL Group York. It also received advice from Jonathan Morgan at Morgans City Living, on the layout.

Jonathan Morgan said: “It’s always good to work with Westcourt, their vision and expertise will no doubt result in a new lease of life for 121 Kirkgate, which is undoubtedly a great location in the heart of the city.”

Westcourt’s previous projects include the restoration of 18 Park Row, Leeds.
