Wildlife Park takes the trophy

YORKSHIRE Wildlife Park, near Doncaster, has been named the county’s ‘most magnificent attraction’, beating last year’s winner the Yorkshire Sculpture Park into second place.

More than 5,500 people voted for their favourite Yorkshire venue at www.yorkshireattractions.org, with third place going to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

Deborah Hindley, chairman of Yorkshire’s Magnificent Attractions, handed the trophy to Cheryl Williams, right, at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park on Wednesday. Wildlife park director Ms Williams said she was keen to retain the prize, adding: ‘We are planning a number of exciting developments in the next year, including the arrival this month of giraffes.’
