Winehouse goddaughter and soul sensation on festival bill

Bradford Council has revealed the full line-up for Bingley Music Live after the final three acts were confirmed including 15-year-old soul singer Dionne Bromfield.

Daley, who was joined on stage by Amy Winehouse shortly before her death, and rock band White Denim will complete the line-up for the three-day festival, which will be held at Myrtle Park on the weekend of September 2-4.

Despite only being 15, Bromfield has already released two albums of soul music.

The latest of these, Good For The Soul, was favourably compared to Duffy and Winehouse herself, who was her godmother.

It was recently announced that the London singer’s collaboration with grime star Tinchy Stryder, Spinnin for 2012, would be the official Olympic Torch Relay song for the 2012 Summer Olympics.

White Denim’s roots are in garage rock but over the course of four albums the Texan quartet have moved ever closer to psychadelia.

Their latest release, this year’s D, has created an industry buzz and tracks have received heavy airplay on BBC Radio 6.

Combining strong melodies with tight playing that’s reminiscent of progressive rock, their live shows have a reputation for intensity.

Both acts will perform on Saturday, September 3, alongside alternative rock headliners Maximo Park, Feeder, Mystery Jets, Athlete, Jon Fratelli, Dot Rotten, and local acts State of Error and Thirteen16.

Daley first came to prominence when he uploaded Rainy Day to the BBC Introducing website. He completes the line-up for Sunday, September 4.

The festival will kick off with a free night of entertainment on Friday, September 2, with a headline set by hip-hop legends Fun Lovin’ Criminals.

Other acts on the bill are Skindred, The Go! Team, Young Guns and Alice Gold.

Coun Ghazanfer Khaliq said: “The line up for this year’s Bingley Music Live is the best yet. It will appeal to people of all ages and musical tastes from across the district and beyond. There has been strong demand for weekend tickets and I would encourage people to act fast to buy the strictly limited number of day tickets to avoid disappointment.”

They will cost £25 plus booking fee.
