Woman, 102, confronts burglar in her Barnsley home

POLICE ARE appealing for witnesses after a 102-year-old woman was burgled in Doncaster.

Officers were called at around 8pm on Wednesday to reports that the woman’s house, in Churchill Avenue, Cusworth, had been broken into.

It is believed that a man forced entry into the house through the front door before confronting the woman inside.

The suspect stole some cash before leaving and locking the door behind him.

No one was injured but the woman was left shaken by the incident.

The man is described as white, 6ft, in his late 30s and reportedly spoke with a Doncaster accent. He is thought to have been wearing a dark jumper.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident.
