Woman, 77, dies in Featherstone house fire
A 77-year-old woman has died following a house fire in Featherstone.
Fire crews from Featherstone and Pontefract along with police and paramedics were called to a property on Nunn’s Close at around 6.50pm last night (Tuesday).
The woman was taken to Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield but died of her injuries.
An 81-year-old man was also injured in the blaze.
A police spokesman said an investigation had been launched into the cause of the fire but it is not thought to be suspicious.
