Woman accused of pensioner's murder

Police last night charged a woman with the murder of a pensioner who was found battered in sheltered accommodation.

Resident Harriet Davison, 88, was discovered with multiple injuries at Emblehope House, Farringdon, Sunderland, on July 16, from which she never recovered. Northumbria Police said Beverley Briggs, 39, of Springwell Road, Sunderland, had been charged with murder.
