An investigation is under way today into the cause of a serious house fire in Bradford.
The blaze destroyed the roof and first floor of one house in Edlington Close, Holme Wood. At least four other properties in the cluster of semi-detached houses and flats also suffered fire or smoke damage.
A number of residents were evacuated while eight fire crews fought to bring the incident under control.
One woman and two children were taken to hospital suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.
The house left with the wrecked roof and first floor was a vacant rental property, said a spokesman for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
He also confirmed that an investigation had been launched into the cause of the incident.
Fire crews were called out at 8.30pm yesterday and remained on the scene until about 1am.
