Woman arrested after toddler dies after fall in garden pond

Humberside Police said the tragedy happened yesterday at a garden pond in the village of Woodmansey, near Beverley, East Yorkshire.

A force spokesman said: “A two-year-old boy sadly died yesterday in Woodmansey, Beverley, after falling in to a private pond and was unresponsive to treatment.

“The toddler was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary yesterday by air ambulance but sadly died a short time later.”

He said a 29-year-old woman was arrested following the incident and was released later on police bail pending inquiries.
