Woman dies in three-vehicle road smash

A WOMAN was killed and her husband was in hospital with "life-threatening" injuries last night after a three-vehicle collision on the A19 Doncaster Road in Owston, Doncaster.

South Yorkshire Police are seeking a "dark car" which failed to stop after the smash at about 9.30pm on Saturday.

It is thought the dark car and a yellow Ford Transit van were trying to overtake a Landrover and a Mercedes Vito van, near to the junction with Rose Lane, when the Transit van collided with both a Ford Ka, which was travelling in the opposite direction, and the Mercedes.

A police spokesman said two males in the yellow van, aged 17 and 19 and from Doncaster, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
