Residents have reported dozens of incidents including racial abuse, threats of violence and criminal damage in Whinmoor.

Lavington was evicted after Leeds City Council applied for a temporary closure order following a string of incidents between June and August. These included loud, late-night parties when she allegedly swore and smoked cannabis and groups of youths threatened residents.

Neighbours Gary and Michelle Connolly told the court they were verbally abused by Lavington and felt “threatened” by the youths.

At Leeds Magistrates’ Court her solicitor Martin Morrow said she had endured a painful year, with her 55-year-old mother dying suddenly and her partner moving out. Lavington denied taking drugs or verbally abusing residents and said the situation had improved in recent weeks.

The order was granted by district judge David Kitson and Leeds Council is also making a claim for possession of the house at County Court.
