Woman facing allegation of care home assault

A 52-year-old woman faces a charge of assaulting a resident at a Leeds elderly people’s home where she was working.

Marianne Manning has appeared in court over the alleged attack at Adel Grange Residential Home in Adel.

Manning, of Tynwald Drive, Moortown, Leeds, has denied assaulting a male resident at the privately-run home on Christmas Day last year.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed Manning was arrested on suspicion of assault and then was reported to court for summons in relation to the allegation.

She appeared at Leeds Magistrates’ Court was on July 16 where she pleaded not guilty and was given conditional bail to appear on September 12.

A spokesman for the home refused to comment.

In a separate move, improvements have been ordered by watchdog the Care Quality Commission over issues with the premises, including a lack of hot water in some rooms.
