Woman jumps from motorway bridge

The anti-clockwise section of the M60 near Blackley, Manchester, had been closed since 3.30am this morning when the 30-year-old was spotted standing on the wrong side of railings on the Nutt Bank bridge.

Officers and police negotiators attended the scene and were speaking to her.

The fire and ambulance service also attended

All three lanes of the clockwise carriageway were also closed after the woman leapt from the bridge around mid-day.

The woman jumped onto the clock-wise carriageway and has been taken to hospital for treatment.

Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
