Woman punched in Holmfirth attempted kidnap

A woman walking on a country lane was grabbed by the hand and then punched in the face in what police are treating as an attempted abduction.

It happened on Fulstone Hall Lane at New Mill, near Holmfirth, at around 4.45pm when the woman, 28, was approached by a man driving what is believed to be a white Audi A3.

Police said the victim managed to strike the suspect and escape by climbing over a gate and running into woods. She then hid in the woods until she was sure the suspect had left.
