Woman remains in hospital after car ploughed into pedestrians in Hull

A woman remains in hospital today after being hit by a car which mounted the pavement.

The 19-year-old from Oxfordshire was one of six people injured by a blue BMW in Hull in the early hours of Saturday.

Emergency services were called to Beverley Road at 3.45am after the BMW and a blue Peugeot 207 collided near the junction of Eldon Road

A Humberside Police spokesman today said: "A 19-year-old Oxfordshire woman remains in hospital for treatment to serious but not life-threatening injuries. She was struck by the BMW as is mounted the pavement on Beverley Road.

"No one else was seriously injured in the collision. It is now known that five other people received minor injuries as they walked along the pavement and were hit by the car as it left the road."

Three men and two women from Hull, who were travelling in the BMW, also received minor injuries.

All five were arrested at the scene and have now been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
