Woman robbed while walking through underpass in Bradford

A woman was robbed while walking through a pedestrian underpass in Bradford.

The victim, in her 50s, was pulled to the ground from behind by the suspect at around 7.15am at the junction of Wakefield Road and Sticker Lane.

Her handbag, which contained a small amount of cash and a bank card, was stolen and the victim suffered minor injuries during the robbery on March 30.

And officers have today (Thursday) issued a description of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

The man, who is described as white, about 5ft 8ins tall and possibly in his 40s, is believed to have information about the robbery.

Police believe he may have seen the suspect.

Detective Inspector Matt Walker, of Bradford District CID, said: "The victim has seen this man on a number of occasions while walking in this area and we are urging him to come forward, as he may have information which could prove vital to our enquiries.  

"He is described as being of medium build with light coloured hair and no facial hair and was wearing a coat with bits of red on the sleeves. He was also carrying a rucksack.

"Our enquiries suggest the offender made off towards Sticker Lane, so we would ask anyone who saw any suspicious activity in that area around the above time to contact us."
