Woman’s body found after fire breaks out at house in Selby


A woman’s body has been recovered after a house fire near Selby.

Police and firefighters were called to the property at Moat Way in Brayton at 1am on June 6.

The body of a woman, believed to be in her 40s, was found at the address.

No other people are thought to have been in the house at the time of the blaze and the scene has been cordoned off.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said they are not yet in a position to name the woman.

An investigation is under way and detectives are currently treating her death as unexplained.
