Woman taken to hospital after aircraft crash

She sustained minor injuries in the accident at Linley Hill Airport, Leven, this morning.

Police were called after the accident, thought to involve a two-seater Cessna 152, and the Civil Aviation Authority is now investigating.

In a brief statement Humberside Police said: “A female pilot has been taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries following a light aircraft crash at Linley Hill Airport, Beverley, today.

“Police were called to the scene at around 11am, after the Sesna (sic) 152 two seater was involved in the single aircaft collision as it came in to land.

“The incident is now in the hands of the Civil Aviation Authority’s air investigation team.”

The airfield declined to comment.
