Work to start on blaze hospital

BUILDING work to repair Chesterfield Hospital’s main entrance, which was destroyed by fire four months ago, will begin tomorrow.

A total of £1.6m will be spent on refitting the area after the devastating blaze, which ravaged a shop, reception desk and cafe.

Hospital chief executive Eric Morton said: “It’s hard to believe that, from such devastation, we are now at this stage.”

Work should be completed by spring next year.
