Clooney held at protest over Sudan

HOLLYWOoD star George Clooney was among protesters arrested outside the Sudanese Embassy in Washington yesterday. His father was also held.

The actor, a long-time activist against human rights abuses in Sudan, smiled as he was handcuffed and put into a United States Secret Service van. He said humanitarian aid needed to be allowed into the Sudan before it became the worst humanitarian crisis in the world and the Khartoum government needed to stop starving, raping and killing its own innocent people.
