Three dead in stabbings at Ikea store

Police in the city of Vasteras said they were called to the store early afternoon where they found a dead man and two wounded people, one of whom died later.

They said a man had been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The city of Vasteras is about an hour west of the Swedish capital, Stockholm.

Police said they were alerted at about 1pm local time and cordoned off the area. Last night police had not ruled out the possibility that he had an accomplice.

The victims were “three seemingly ordinary visitors” who were stabbed as they browsed the kitchen accessories department, the store’s manager, Mattias Johansson, told reporters.
