Woman freed from death row ‘detained’
Meriam Ibrahim was held with her husband and two children at the international airport in Khartoum, the country’s capital, according to lawyer Eman Abdul-Rahim.
The Court of Cassation in Khartoum on Monday cancelled the death sentence against 27-year-old Ms Ibrahim after defence lawyers presented their case. The court then ordered her release.

Hide AdMs Ibrahim, whose father was Muslim but who was raised by her Christian mother, was convicted of apostasy for marrying a Christian man in a church ceremony in 2011.
Muslim women in Sudan are prohibited from marrying non-Muslims, although Muslim men can marry outside their faith.
