It's official - the humble Yorkshire pudding is now a food trend.
A chef is launching a street food van based around the traditional battered pud in York - and he's put a quirky twist on the local delicacy.
Jason Hartley's Daft Puddin' stand will sell Mexican, north African and Caribbean-inspired Yorkshire pudding dishes.
The 45-year-old is debuting his pitch at the Shambles Market this Sunday.
Among the menu options is a signature dish featuring a pudding made with charcoal from Featherstone pit.
There are also sweet choices, such as puds covered in chocolate glazes, filled with ice cream or served with jam.
“All my food uses the very best native rare breed meats from the Yorkshire Dales as well as organic flour, free range eggs, milk, artisan cheese and locally grown veg all from leading small-scale producers,” said Jason.
“I picked York to launch Daft Puddin’ in because my brand is all about being quirky but beautiful and there is no where in Britain more quirky and beautiful than York.”
