Yorkshire put on flood alert as rain sets in for the weekend
Potentially heavy and persistent rain falling on already sodden ground in England on Sunday, particularly in the south, could lead to river flooding.
The bad weather combined with high tides could also increase the risk of coastal flooding along the east coast of England and parts of the south coast, the EA and Met Office warned.

There are currently two flood warnings in place, at the River Seven at Sinnington, North Yorkshire, and Lustrum Beck at Stockton-on-Tees, and 44 flood watches.
Widespread flood warnings and watches are likely to be issued over the next five days, and the Met Office and Environment Agency are monitoring the situation and urging people to be vigilant.
Craig Woolhouse, Environment Agency head of incident management, said: "In light of the forecast for more rain over the coming days, the Environment Agency is continuing to closely monitor river and sea levels.

Both agencies urged people to keep up to date with the latest weather forecasts and flooding warnings.
