Yorkshire Regiment unveils its new belts
A proud tradition was upheld yesterday when the Yorkshire Regiment, which is to receive new Regimental Colours, unveiled the very ornate new ceremonial belts in which they will be carried.
The new regalia was shown off at Worsley Barracks, York, yesterday.
Historically, the colours acted as a rallying point for troops on the battlefield. The belts are carried by Ensigns to hold the Colours while on parade or the battlefield.
