Yorkshire shamed in healthy food quiz
A total of 2,000 adults took part in the Food IQ quiz with over three-quarters (77 per cent) of them getting half right or less.
The survey, backed by the Department of Health’s Change4Life campaign, showed people still do not realise how much salt, sugar and saturated fats are contained in food they eat every day.

In Yorkshire, none answered the survey correctly but three in 10 people (29 per cent) correctly answered four questions.
The results showed most people (85 per cent) do not realise a pre-packed ham and cheese sandwich has more salt than a chicken tikka masala ready meal or a packet of ready salted crisps, while six in 10 (63 per cent) was unaware a small pepperoni pizza has more saturated fat than fish and chips, while over half (54 per cent) did not know a strawberry fat free yoghurt has more sugar in it than a bowl of cornflakes.
Ainsley Harriott, Change4Life campaign ambassador, said: “It’s really important to be aware of what hidden nasties may be in your food, and to know what you’re putting in your or your family’s bodies.”
The Food IQ Quiz is now available on the Change4Life Facebook page.
