Young artists given chance to shine

Children can enter one piece of work on paper or card, no smaller than A4 and no larger than A2.

Winners will receive voucher prizes from children's illustrator Deborah Allwright at the opening on Saturday, December 4. Youngsters have until November 14 to pick up an entry form from the Ferens Art Gallery in Hull and and submit their work.

The prizes have been donated by the Friends of the Ferens and the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies.

Assistant curator Claire Longrigg said: "The Junior Open is a great opportunity for children to have their own work on show in the gallery, and last year's display proved extremely popular, both with entrants and visitors."

Any child aged 15 and under can enter, either as an individual, or through a school or group.
