On your Marks as model takes lingerie back to the Jazz Age

British model and actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has launched a range of Twenties-style lingerie for Marks and Spencer.

The 25-year-old, who began her career as a model for Monsoon but more recently worked for American lingerie giant Victoria’s Secret, said she drew on her experience to create the Rosie for Autograph line of 33 “vintage-inspired” pieces.

The collection, which includes silk lingerie sets, cami and French knicker sets, a teddy and a kimono style robe, “encompasses the chic and sophisticated look synonymous with the Autograph brand, combined with the expertise and inspiration drawn from Rosie’s extensive experience in the fashion industry”, the retailer said.

Ms Huntington-Whiteley said: “To find inspiration for the collection I trawled my favourite vintage shops and flea markets in London, LA and Paris where I found a treasure trove of gorgeous clothes and ornate pieces of jewellery, as well as pictures and patterns found in old design books and fashion magazines.

“I was particularly drawn to the opulent elegance of the Twenties era.”

The collection is available at selected M&S stores and online from today.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that M&S is to replace celebrities with “ordinary models” for its upcoming womenswear TV campaign.

A “sneak preview” of the autumn winter collection on the retailer’s website shows three models wearing the upcoming range, but none of the famous faces associated with the brand that include Twiggy, Myleene Klass and Lisa Snowdon.

According to the Sun, the new campaign, called For Every Woman You Are, will feature two size 16 models and one with grey hair. However it is understood that Twiggy and other celebrities would still be used in the future.

Last year M&S included a number of “non celebrities” in its autumn winter collection.

An M&S spokeswoman said: “All will be revealed soon.”
