Youth on murder charge

A YOUTH aged 16 appeared in court yesterday accused of murdering a teenager and wounding another.

The accused, who cannot be named because of his age, was remanded in youth detention accommodation by Scarborough Youth Court to appear at Leeds Crown Court for a bail application.

He is accused of murdering Michael Graham, 19, who was found stabbed outside The Olympia amusement arcades on Scarborough’s Foreshore Road on Saturday and died shortly afterwards. He is also accused of wounding a 17-year-old with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.

The court proceedings were adjourned for six weeks for committal proceedings.
