Obituary: Aidan Doyle, film maker
Aidan Doyle, who has died at 68, was a York-based film maker whose most recent work was a historical account of the city, presented by Michael Portillo.
Originally from Dublin, he was a secondary school teacher when in the early 2000s he decided to leave the security of profession to pursue a dream of making films.

Hide AdEstablishing Unicorn Films as his production vehicle, he turned out several titles, including a number on York, and had engaged Mr Portillo again for what would have been his next, on the Hill of Howth tramway in the Irish capital.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, and sons Andrew, David and Jonathan.
