A request to have a speed limit on a Rotherham road reduced is to be considered by councillors after residents raised a petition to highlight their concerns.
They are worried about safety on a stretch of Doncaster Road, between Fosters garage and Thrybergh country park.
Mr Christopher Taylor presented the petition to Rotherham Council and said: “I believe Doncaster Road has been forgotten by the council.
“There are no crossings for children and residents, there is nowhere for people to cross the road, with narrow pavements and vehicles parking on the pavements.
“The school has yellow lines outside, forcing traffic to park on the main road.
“The council has allowed extra developments on the road. There is double parking and buses stopping.
“We believe 40 miles an hour is far too excessive.
“There must be a problem with this road, because we always have speed cameras at either end,” he said.
Rotherham Council have promised a response to the points raised.
