Boy, four, seriously injured after being hit by Volvo in Bradford

A four-year-old boy remains seriously ill in hospital today after being knocked down by a car in Bradford yesterday.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the collision, which happened shortly after 2.20pm in Beckside Road.

A spokesman said the boy had been knocked down by a black Volvo S80 travelling towards Spencer Road.

"Early enquiries suggest the boy had ran out into the road when the collision occurred," he said.

"He was taken to hospital with serious injuries and is said to be in a serious but stable condition at this time."

Anyone who witnessed the collision or the events immediately prior to it is asked to contact PC 483 Moss at the Western Area Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting log 1003 of 12 July.
