Sheep killed in dog attack in Great Ayton, North Yorkshire

A sheep has been killed after it was fatally injured in a dog attack in Great Ayton, North Yorkshire.

The dog was let off its lead in a field full of sheep at Suggetts Field, opposite Great Ayton High Street, at around 3.30pm on Monday, January 25.

Police believe three men were in the field with the Lurcher-type dog.

As a result of the attack, the shepp was left with severe injuries, and the farmer was left with no alternative but to have it put to sleep to end its suffering.

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack.
