Allott in at the treble

Centre Joe Allott ran-in a hat-trick of tries as Sandal romped to a 51-10 success at home to Lymm.

The hosts extended their unbeaten run to 10 games and topped a half-century of points for the fourth time this season. Lymm made the brighter start and took the lead through a penalty before Sandal eventually started to exert their dominance.

Allott’s first try was augmented by a brace from scrum-half Max Whittingham and one by winger Simon Frewin, Sandal earning a bonus-point and a 32-3 half-time advantage.

The visitors hit back straight after the interval in a bid to restore some pride but once the storm had been weathered Sandal regained complete control. Allott’s second was quickly followed by his third which saw him gather a neat chip over the advancing defence by fly-half Greg Wood, whose tally included a penalty and five conversions. The scoring was wrapped up by Mark Pease to round off an impressive display.
