Barnsley v Derby County: Robins sets Reds new challenge

Championship: BARNSLEY manager Mark Robins has challenged his players to finish the season as the top club in South Yorkshire.

Without a win in five games, the Tykes have dropped out of contention for play-off qualification.

Both Doncaster Rovers and Sheffield United are currently three points higher up the table and Robins said: "We believe we can catch them and get into the top 10. That is our incentive for the rest of the season.

"I am still disappointed," he added. "Because we had got ourselves into a great position, just outside the play-offs, and then let it slip."

The Tykes still have the opportunity to beat their highest points tally (55) since returning to the Championship four years ago.

Currently on 52 points, the club's final four fixtures are against Derby today, Swansea City, QPR and West Bromwich.
