Barnsley v Watford: Robins pointing Barnsley in right direction

Championship: BARNSLEY manager Mark Robins wants to erase the memory of his first game in charge.

Six months ago, Robins opened his reign with a 1-0 defeat at Watford.

The Tykes had only one point at that stage but are now only five points off the play-off zone after an impressive midweek victory over Preston North End.

Robins said: "My memories of that match are still pretty raw, as we were shocking, but, hopefully, the players now have the confidence and belief to do ourselves justice this time around.

"Confidence is better now because of the position we are in. It is the the highest since we have been in the Championship."

Despite the progress, Robins steadfastly refuses to talk about possible play-off qualification.

"You can talk about play-offs but we talk about Watford. They were in the play-offs, when we were on one point. Now we are above them and we would like to keep adding to our points."
