A strong-starting Leeds Force faded late to suffer a 22nd straight BBL defeat against Glasgow Rocks tonight, losing 100-76 at Carnegie Sports Arena.

An electric opening saw an energised Force burst from the gates against the short-handed Rocks, with Glasgow native Chris De Sousa sinking a timely three to charge the struggling Leeds into an unlikely lead.

A second treble from Leeds veteran George Brownell ramped up the pressure, as Force pummelled a shell-shocked Glasgow defence in a pulsating first five minutes.

Kosovan international Gazmend Sinani’s sensational spinning finish prised open a seven-point advantage for the home side as Leeds looked to shatter their miserable five-month losing streak.

Inevitably, the play-off-chasing Rocks stepped on the gas pedal and fought back into contention – Nate Britt turning on the jets and converting from close-range as Glasgow looked to quell Leeds’ strong start.

A devastating second segment saw Glasgow battle back and emphatically steam ahead, the Scottish side scoring nine unanswered points to turn a close encounter on its head.

Leeds captain Isaac Mourier handed Leeds a lifeline with a decisive treble as Force gradually clawed their way back into a fascinating fixture.

American star Earl Brown’s thunderous throw-down shook Carnegie Sports Arena and punctured Force’s momentum as Glasgow cruised to a 20-point advantage at half-time.

Force countered quickly to open the third period with a sea of trebles as Leeds pushed the pace in hopes of igniting a comeback, before Glasgow’s quality told and The Rocks strode clear.

Looking to put the game firmly beyond Force’s reach, Glasgow turned to the fiery Brown to haul the Scottish squad over the line – the American threat turning on the style and torching a vulnerable Force defence in the closing stage.

Feeling no ill effect from the absence of six star players away at the Commonwealth Games, Glasgow put on a show and cruised clear of a fading Force in the final minutes to condemn Leeds to yet another BBL defeat.
