Bramall Lane bout for Sheffield United fan Kell Brook?

SHEFFIELD'S KELL Brook is close to agreeing a fight with his mandatory challenger Errol Spence Jnr, with several venues including Bramall Lane being discussed.

Talks for a super fight against Brook’s bitter rival Amir Khan broke down recently after a public war of words on Twitter, leaving the Sheffield man in limbo.

It appears Brook will stay at welterweight and take on his dangerous mandatory challenge Spence Jnr, who has won all 21 of his professional bouts with 18 KOs, in a bid to keep the Khan fight on ice for later this year.

“Both countries are still in play,” Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn told Sky Sports.

“We like the idea of staging it in the UK, but also Kell quite likes the idea of fighting in America as well.

“He beat Shawn Porter there, so if the money is right, he doesn’t have an issue with going to the States, but most likely Sheffield.

“We’re talking to Bramall Lane about it as well, end of May, 20th or the 27th.

“We have talked about a fight for a while there and I think this one makes sense.”
