Chisora makes bold prediction

Dereck Chisora vowed to knock Vitali Klitschko out in eight rounds to claim the WBC heavyweight crown when the pair clash in Munich next month.

The 28-year-old British boxer is looking to bounce back from the disappointment of a controversial points defeat in his European title bout with Robert Helenius in Finland by pulling off a shock victory over the Ukrainian, the three-time world champion.

Chisora – who also lost to Tyson Fury in their British title showdown in July last year – saw his plans to take on IBF, WBO and WBA champion Wladimir Klitschko scuppered by the holder’s injury problems, and intends to take his shot at the big time when up against the other brother.

“No 8 is my lucky number and Vitali is going down in the eighth round,” said Chisora when the pair came head-to-head at a press conference in London yesterday.

“I am coming to take what is his and make it mine.”

The ‘mystery man’ at the centre of the latest controversy surrounding Amir Khan’s defeat by Lamont Peterson in Washington DC has revealed he will attend a hearing into the fight on January 18 insisting he has “nothing to hide”.

Mustafa Ameen hit the headlines last week when Khan questioned his ringside presence during the split decision loss that cost him his WBA and IBF light-welterweight titles.

“Amir Khan and Golden Boy have requested a hearing to appeal the decision and I am going to participate in the hearing,” said Ameen. #“I’m not going to take the path that others have taken and state my case on the internet and in the media.

“I’ve got nothing to hide.”
