Bradford City v Barnet: Familiar foe Furlong can cause trouble

league two: PETER TAYLOR has warned Bradford City to be on their guard against a striker he first worked with more than 20 years ago.

Paul Furlong, who at 41 is the oldest player in the Football League, first crossed the path of the Bantams chief at Enfield during the Eighties.

Then, after Taylor had moved on to Watford to assist Steve Perryman, the pair were reunited at Vicarage Road where Furlong impressed sufficiently for Chelsea to snap him up in 1994.

Sixteen years later, Furlong is still going strong and Taylor is in no doubt as to the threat the big striker could pose today.

He said: "It is amazing he is still playing now. He was a terrific success for Watford."

Taylor was heartened by the midweek win over Morecambe but has warned there can be no let-up in performance during the final four games.
