Brentford v Huddersfield Town: Clark banks on experience of Geordie days

League one: LEE CLARK believes growing up in the pressure-cooker atmosphere of Newcastle United is helping to keep him calm in the promotion race.

The Huddersfield Town manager spent the majority of his playing career at St James' Park after coming through the ranks.

It meant Clark learned to cope with the ups and downs that inevitably accompany the business end of a season and he is determined to put that experience to good use by steering Town into the Championship.

He said: "It is easy for me. I grew up in this type of environment when I was a young player.

"The club I played for had expectations and the demands were massive every single game, every week.

"It has helped me deal with what is going on right now. It is not new to me."
