Bristol City v Middlesbrough: Boro aim to bounce back from Cup exit

Championship: Middlesbrough travel to Ashton Gate today with both sides desperate to bounce back from FA Cup humiliations.

While Bristol City were thrashed 3-0 at home by League One side Sheffield Wednesday, Boro fell to a surprise defeat at Burton Albion.

And with both sides sitting too close for comfort to the Championship relegation zone, three points will be all the incentive either side needs today.

On-loan Bristol City defender Steven Caulker (hip) could be fit while captain Louis Carey could return following two months out. Christian Ribeiro is a doubt after sustaining a hamstring injury.

Middlesbrough's Marvin Emnes (foot), Barry Robson (thigh) and Jason Steele (knee) have returned to training but midfielder Nicky Bailey (virus) is a major doubt. Mickael Tavares (fractured toe) is out and teenage striker Luke Williams is having a scan on an injured ankle. Kevin Thomson (leg fracture), Stephen McManus (ankle ligaments), Willo Flood (knee) and Rhys Williams (pelvis) are out.
