Cardiff 34 Rotherham Titans 27: Titans edged out in try blitz

ROTHERHAM TITANS' hopes of progression in the British and Irish Cup hang in the balance after defeat in a highly-entertaining game in Wales.

Rotherham led early on thanks to two tries from Canadian international flanker Adam Kleeberger, and despite adding two more tries, they lost by seven points to Cardiff and must now beat Doncaster in the South Yorkshire derby next Saturday, plus hope other results to go their way, in order to progress.

Neil Chivers' clever chip through set up a third try of the game for Rotherham, scored by Jon Feeley.

But Cardiff roared back and were on course for victory before Gregor Hayter set up a nervy conclusion with a fourth try for the Yorkshire side at the death.

There was still time though for Cardiff fly-half Gareth Davies to slot over a penalty to seal victory for the Welsh side.
