Championship: Flockhart and List agree new contracts with Doncaster Knights

DONCASTER KNIGHTS head into today's game with Ealing Trailfinders bolstered by the news two of their longest-serving players have signed new deals at Castle Park.

Prop Richard List and winger Dougie Flockhart have both agreed single-season extensions for 2018-19.

The pair have both passed 200 games for Doncaster and are just as active off the pitch; List works alongside Rugby Development Manager Ants Posa as well as Knights senior players Tyson Lewis and Matt Challinor in the Academy coaching the young forwards during their all-conquering 2017/18 campaign.

Flockhart, meanwhile, has been the Knights’ strength and conditioning coach since 2011 but from next season onwards he will extend that to the Academy and Doncaster Phoenix, too.

List, 36, said: “It’s great to have re-signed back here at the Knights; we’re a club with a great family atmosphere, great supporters and I can’t wait to get stuck into another year.”

Flockhart, the Knights’ all-time leading points scorer, will then complete a full decade at Castle Park.

“I’m looking forward to getting back on the pitch after an injury-hit year and expanding my role on and off the pitch with Academy and Phoenix.”

Against Ealing, centre Andy Bulumakau starts for the first time since last month’s trip to Cornish Pirates.

But key man Simon Humberstone has been ruled out with injury, so Charlie Foley switches from full-back to stand-off and partners Tom James who gets the nod over Michael Heaney at scrum-half.

Nick Civetta is the only change to the pack, while Adam Batt also returns on the bench.

Relegated Rotherham Titans, meanwhile, are in action at London Scottish this afternoon.
