Huddersfield YMCA stretched their lead at the top when they scored four tries to three in a 28-19 win at Leodiensians.

No 8 Neil Walker scored two tries, while flanker Sam Hodge and second-row Jack Housley also touched down; John Smith converting all four.

Second-placed Pocklington dropped a point when they scored only two tries in a 24-5 home win over West Park Leeds.

Pocklington edged in front with three first-half penalties by Nick Bennett and added tries by hooker Shane Sellers and winger Dan Pickard before the visitors came back with a consolation try by Alistair Booth.

Moortown missed the chance of going level with Pocklington when they were restricted to three tries in a 37-26 home victory over Doncaster Phoenix.

Centre Mark Shires ran in two tries and prop Nathan Preston added another, but it was goal kicker Mark Wilkinson who made the difference with two conversions and six penalties.
