Chesterfield v Bradford City: Bantams close to securing Taylor contract

League two: PETER TAYLOR expects his Bradford City future to be resolved within the coming week.

The Bantams want the 57-year-old to remain in charge beyond the end of the season after an encouraging start to his reign at Valley Parade.

However, before committing his future to the League Two club, Taylor wants certain assurances over training facilities, the standard of the Bradford pitch and next season's playing budget.

He said: "We are not far away and I think there will be news during next week, and certainly by no later than May 1. I am enjoying it here.

"The news a new training ground has been found in Leeds (at the University's Weetwood site) is a positive step and one that can only benefit the club in the future."

City travel to play-off hopefuls Chesterfield today.
