Clark makes call for basketball revamp

Great Britain forward Dan Clark has called for more funding for British basketball to ensure the 2012 London Olympics leave a legacy.

World governing body FIBA has held off from confirming Britain can take up the hosts' place next year – no decision will be announced until March – as it asks for assurances over future investment to raise the profile of the game in this country.

And Clark believes that is fully justified, saying there is a need for an overhaul of the sport's infrastructure.

"I think it's good they have put pressure on us because if they let us in for free, we wouldn't change anything in the country," said the Greenwich-born 22-year-old.

"We need to make the domestic league better and make everything better, in general, not just the national team, not just putting everything into that one team."
