Cleckheaton 18 Sheffield Tigers 49: Tigers pack make their power pay

Cleckheaton were looking to go out on a high but with players out and against a big Tigers pack they suffered their heaviest defeat of the season in the final game.

Cleckheaton got off to a good start with the forwards winning the early play and Andy Piper going in for a try.

Cleckheaton again crossed the line in the 17th minute through Lance Hamilton but Tigers' Tom Outram, having failed with one attempt, responded with a penalty.

The try of the game came from Ross Hayden in the 30th minute with Tigers on the attack and in Cleckheaton's 22. Hayden picked up an intercepted pass and ran the length of the field for a try in the corner.

Cleckheaton looked on course for a four-try bonus point, but Tigers got back into the game with a try from Ali Thomson and a penalty from Outram.

In the second half, the floodgates opened and Tigers ran in five tries through Zack Holgate (2), Outram (2) and Dave Scully, and five conversions and a penalty from Outram.
