Codling’s charges finishing with a bang
With two head coaches departing the scene in the 2012-13 season, and little to play for in terms of promotion or relegation, most teams would have already been planning for next season and would have taken their eye off the ball.
But for the second home game in succession, Alex Codling’s side claimed a win, this time a gritty, 26-22 victory over a resolute Moseley.

Hide AdThe victory, coming three days after they routed Cornish Pirates, sees Titans climb to seventh, knowing a win in their final game of the season – back at Clifton Lane next week against London Scottish – could see them finish in very creditable sixth place.
It was another performance that shows they are still fighting for Codling, the man who succeeded Andre Bester but is leaving at the end of the season.
Titans’ points in a very entertaining game at a blustery Clifton Lane came from an Eamonn Sheridan try, a penalty try and 16 points from the boot of James McKinney.
They also played the final 29 minutes with 14 men after flanker Latu Makaafi was red-carded for foul play.
