Cope is unable to stretch O'Sullivan

SNOOKER: World No 1 Ronnie O'Sullivan raced into the last eight of the totesport.com Welsh Open with a crushing 5-0 second-round win over Jamie Cope.

O’Sullivan needed just 55 minutes to see off the challenge of error-prone world No 18 Cope.

World No 11 Mark Allen set up a quarter-final date with O’Sullivan as he ended the hopes of home favourite Matthew Stevens 5-2.

Scotland’s Stephen Maguire also progressed to the quarter-finals as he swept aside Barry Hawkins 5-1, as did Mark Selby, who advanced following a 5-3 victory over Mark King.
