All-round display by Naveen hurts Treeton

Muhhammad Naveed starred as Wickersley took a step nearer their eighth Premier Division title.

They hosted Treeton, who started in ominous fashion at 107-1 and closed on 188-9 as Naveed took 5-30, Gareth Davis cracking 58 and Steve Foster 45.

Wickersley were up to the task and replied with 189-7, Jordan Lowe unbeaten on 71 and Naveed 52 not out. Greg Norton claimed 4-59 for Treeton.

Whitley Hall’s South African all-rounder Jaco Castle starred against Whiston, taking three wickets in their total 215.

He then struck five fours and seven sixes in his 76 as his team won by six wickets.

Hallam got rid of guests Coal Aston for 124, Liam Johnson hitting 56 and Neil Mountjoy top home attacker with a spell of 6-22, followed with 127-3, John Hayman 65.

Elsecar made their trip to Houghton Man worthwhile when seeing off the hosts for 169, Tanzeel Ali making 54, and with three wickets each for Luke Townsend and Shahzad Rana. The Armroyd Laners replied with 172-7, Ian Swallow 43 and Jason Meadows 40.

Aston Hall were in a hurry at the Upper Haugh ground, rushing out the hosts for just 85, Scott Hibbett returning an economical 5-2, leaving their batsmen an easy task to make 86-1.

There was a similar result for Norton Oakes, who had Wath back in the pavilion for 92, with five wickets each for Abid Younas and Nathan Musselwhite. They cruised to 94-4 in reply.

Darfield were top scorers in Division One, Pete Hadfield hammering 79 and Luke Potter 66 no of their 291-5 against Wath B (203-9).

Tickhill made 290-7, with Aaron Haycock (82) leading the way. Alex Rowland added 46no before grabbing 5-59 in the Conisbrough reply of 169.

Kexborough had two century-makers in their 242-1 at home to Barnsley B, who could only muster 171-9 in reply. Opener Mike Jepps hit 17 boundaries in his 109, while Adam Wiles walloped 102, with 18 boundaries – the pair put on 230 in a second-wicket partnership.
